Community-based efforts to implement effective suicide prevention strategies are key to the Action Alliance's goal of reducing the rate of suicide nationwide. The Action Alliance is working to implement and support community-based approaches, with an emphasis in reaching faith communities, workplaces, American Indian/Alaska Native populations, and service members, veterans and their families, as well as juvenile justice settings.

One resource developed by the Action Alliance is Transforming Communities: Key Elements for the Implementation of Comprehensive Community-Based Suicide Prevention, which identifies seven key elements for comprehensive community-based suicide prevention.
