Action Alliance Priority: Effective Suicide Prevention in Healthcare
Learn more about our Healthcare Advisory Group.
A key element of suicide prevention is ensuring that people at risk for suicide receive the most effective and appropriate care. Healthcare settings reflect a critical intervention point to prevent suicide; most individuals who die by suicide have had recent contact with a healthcare professional prior to their death.
The Action Alliance is advancing shared solutions across the healthcare system, including the development of a comprehensive care transitions pathway and the establishment of a Payor Working Group to improve alignment, financing, and implementation of suicide prevention efforts. Together, these efforts aim to support more coordinated and sustainable approaches to care across health systems.
This work builds on evidence-based practices and models such as Zero Suicide.
