Data and Surveillance Task Force
This task force was created to guide Action Alliance efforts addressing suicide-related data collection and surveillance. Current objectives include:
- Linking national data systems to improve the quality, specificity, and accuracy of suicide-related data
- Promoting uniform reporting on suicide through utilizing standard language and definitions of self-harm and suicidal thoughts
- Improving access to timely suicide-related data
Task force recommendations for improving national data systems for the surveillance of suicide-related events were presented in a 2014 report published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine.
