Leadership

Business leaders can be “visible, vocal and visionary” in directing suicide prevention efforts. We have seen through many examples (e.g., U.S. Air Force, first responder communities, colleges and universities) that when there is genuine top-down support for mental health promotion and suicide prevention, the community is much more likely to embrace change. This section highlights several examples of this type of leadership demonstrated by companies and military establishments that are at the forefront of suicide prevention.
