Andrew Bertagnolli, PhD
Dr. Andrew Bertagnolli is the vice president of care engagement and resiliency product development at Optum Behavioral Health. In this role, he is responsible for designing and developing new products to support members achieving and sustaining recovery from mental health and substance use disorders. Prior to this role, Bertagnolli served as the director of Integrated Behavioral Health at Kaiser Permanente’s Care Management Institute. He has more than 20 years of health care experience and an exceptionally strong background in healthcare operations, consulting, and process improvement in the areas of behavioral health and pain management. Bertagnolli received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. His master’s degree and doctorate are from the California School of Professional Psychology in Alameda, California, and he completed his internship at University of New Mexico Consortium in Albuquerque. In addition, Bertagnolli is the staff psychologist at Spinecare Medical Group in Daly City, California, and an adjunct professor at Alliant International University. He has also been on the faculty of the Wright Institute, San Francisco State University, University of California-Berkeley Extension, and University of California-San Francisco. He also serves as an expert reviewer for the California Board of Psychology.
