Salma Shawa, a research assistant at Education Development Center (EDC), provides administrative and operational support to the Action Alliance team. She is responsible for coordinating meetings for the Action Alliance Executive Committee (EXCOM), as well as logistics planning for events. Shawa also acts as the project coordinator for the Mental Health Storytelling Coalition, where she develops nomination and onboarding processes for new Coalition members, manages editorial calendars, and designs and analyzes surveys.
In addition to her work at the Action Alliance, Shawa is involved in several research and evaluation projects at EDC, where she conducts qualitative and quantitative education and public health research.
She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Management from Clark University.
