Ms. Maureen Iselin serves as senior communications specialist for the National Action Alliance Alliance for Suicide Prevention (Action Alliance), housed at the Education Development Center. In this role, she helps to manage media relations, social media, website development, and product promotion for the Action Alliance, as well as leading efforts to advance its Changing the Conversation priority work with news media, entertainment media, and public messengers. She brings with her more than 15 years of experience in media relations, strategic communications, technical writing, copy editing, project management, social media content management, training support, and internal communications. In addition, Iselin is a suicide loss survivor and has previously volunteered for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention as an inaugural board member of the National Capital Area Chapter in Washington, DC.
Prior to joining the Action Alliance in 2019, Iselin served as the communications manager at the Nashville Health Care Council, the premier membership association of health care industry leaders providing a foundation for collaboration and innovation. Iselin also held previous communications roles with the American Iron and Steel Institute, Battelle Memorial Institute, Kelly Government Solutions (as an onsite contractor for the National Institute of Mental Health), ReviveHealth, and Waves.
She graduated from Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and minors in Psychology and Leadership Studies.
